You can take a boat and a tram tour at Myakka River State Park. On the tram tour we went down Powerline Road. It used to be a small gauge railroad track and there are canals on either side from dredging to make the track. Nick, our guide, told us there are three female alligators who live in the canals all the time and we found tons of baby alligators. They were difficult to photograph as they hid in the branches and reeds. The canals are well away from the larger alligators so it's a safer place to actually grow. Here they mostly have to watch for Great Egrets and Great Blue Herons.
