Princess of Wales Conservatory
Long Layered Flower
Soft Focus and Leaves
There are about nine water dragons that live and breed in the conservatory. They are in charge of pest control.
Poison Dart Frogs are one of those things I just have to take pictures of even though I have lots already. There are a few displays with the animals and fish that live with the plants on display.
Path Through the Glass House
The Princess of Wales Conservatory recreates ten climatic zones. Each zone was full of varied and interesting plants. It's a wonder to see so many varieties of the same type of plant together in one place.
There is a room with a line of structural poles. They are decorated with different themes at different times of year.
The poles in this room were all covered with different types of orchids on this occasion.
The Princess of Wales Conservatory has many levels. And here you can see the view looking down.
Not from trees, just from hooks on the wall. The orchid rooms in the Princess of Wales Conservatory are extraordinary. And this is one way to display lots of different types of orchids and not take up a lot of space.
Pink and Green
The Prayer Plant will curl up its leaves after dark.
Shapes in the Flowers
The flowers of several orchids look like flying bugs to me.
Frills and Lace
Tower of Bromeliads
The poles were covered in bromeliads on this occasion.
This plant was covering a wall in the conservatory.
There are several varieties of this type of flower in the gardens. Each with different colors.
There are so many incredible plant bits to see at Kew Gardens.
Kew Gardens has two rooms filled with carnivorous plants.
Fern spores develop on the bottoms of the leaves.
Tower of Jewels
This is the plant that the Peeking Pink Petals picture comes from. It can grow up to 8 feet tall.
Rows and Rows
The Tower of Jewels is really a striking plant. The flowers themselves are pretty small but there are certainly a lot of them.
Peeking Pink Petals
I'll have to post a picture of the whole plant tomorrow. It is as tall as I am and the flowers form a peaked hat at the top. This plant is called Tower of Jewels.
