Misc Everglades

I love to visit the Everglades. There are different ways to see the Everglades and I've tried a few. Shark Vally Visitor Center has a tram ride and the Gulf Coast Visitor Center has a boat ride. With Everglades Area Tours I've taken a sunset photography cruise in Ten Thousand Islands and a kayak tour of the Turner River. With Everglades Adventures I've done a pole boat tour of the Turner River. There is so much more to see and do! This gallery is a collection from all of these trips. This is My Branch!
These small Anoles are found everywhere. I don't usually see them until they move. This one was not happy with my getting close to get a picture and is doing a territorial behavior by flaring his dewlap and bobbing his head.
Just Hanging Out
Anoles are found everywhere. They come in many colors and patterns. They can scurry up rocks or branches.
Fishing
From a boat or from the air you will always see someone fishing.
Mangrove Island and Hunting Little Blue Heron
The 10,000 Islands park of the Everglades Park consists of these Mangrove islands. They are made from mostly Red Mangrove trees. Birds of all sorts will roost on their branches in the shade during the heat of the day. Any bird that fishes will use them as a place to fish from.
Coral Bean
Coral Bean is small shrub that grows well in sandy soil.

Me? I'm Not One of Those Alligators
There is a canal along this road in the Everglades and there are dozens of alligators that swim and sun along it's banks.
